Pen and ink with ink washes on Portofino Hot Pressed, acid-free, 100% cotton watercolour paper. I found this tree near the Black Rapids Lock Station of the Rideau Canal near Ottawa. Someone years before had attached a chain to this tree, possibly to tie a boat to it. They left the chain and the tree adapted to it by growing around the chain to be embedded in its bark.
Mankind does wrongful things and mother nature adapts, as we too must learn to adapt to things that do not feel natural to us. Like this tree, we shall prevail!
