I  was born and raised in Banff National Park. Living in the mountains gave me an appreciation of nature and an awareness of the importance of preserving Canada's wilderness places. I want my work to describe the joy I feel when out in nature when the world seems holy.

Landscapes

 Canada has a varied landscape from majestic mountains, rolling plains, forested valleys, and beautiful rivers and lakes.  I have traveled the country painting at various sights and provinces. 

Flowers

What a delight it is to discover a wild flower when out on a walk. Although I love to paint these flowers, at times I can't resist the beauty of a "domestic" flower. 

Pen and Ink Drawings

I love to draw and can spend hours on a subject in pen and ink. I also use washes, mixing India ink with water in various concentrations to paint over the work I have done with a pen.

Animals and Birds
​

Although it is thrilling to paint wild animals they seldom stand still when people are around. This muskox is a reminder of a painting trip I did with Parks Canada to the Ivvavik National Park in the Yukon. My other paintings are not so unique, some birds in my back yard and then there's always my cat....

Figures

I don't often paint figures but once in a while I just can't resist. This is a picture of my grand daughter and her dog. It's called "Girl's Best Friend"
