This painting was inspired by a tree that was struck by lightning several years ago on Dunrobin Road. I was amazed to see that it was still alive even though its entire core was completely burned out. I've been watching the tree each year as I drive by and it is still producing leaves. It reminds me of the endurance and strength of nature. We too are part of nature and possess great endurance and strength.
