This is a step-by-step studio workshop designed to introduce first-time painters to the core techniques of capturing nature using fast-drying acrylic paint. Students will be responsible for providing their own supplies, a supply list will be emailed to the student at registration. The instructor will introduce the characteristics of acrylic paint and the various types of acrylic paint. Core skills taught will be colour mixing and theory, value and form, brushwork techniques and atmospheric perspective. Subjects will include sky and clouds, trees and water. 4 complete paintings will be completed during the course. More advanced classes will follow if there is interest.
