Acrylic Landscape Painting - New - at the Nepean Creative Arts Centre-35 Stafford Road, Nepean
Wednesdays September 23rd to October 28th - 9:30 am to 12:30
This is a step-by-step studio workshop designed to introduce first-time painters to the core techniques of capturing nature using fast-drying acrylic paint. Students will be responsible for providing thier own supplies, a supply list will be emailed to the student at registeration. The instructor will introduce the characteristics of acrylics and the various types of acrylic paint. Core skills taught will be colour mixing and theory, value and form, brushwork techniques and atmospheric perspective. Subjects will be sky and clouds, trees and water. Four paintings will be completed during the course.
Winter in Watercolour

This class is intended for intermediate artists who should have some familiarity with basic watercolour techniques, such as painting wet-in-wet. Subjects covered will be;

Brenda will teach you about the basic painting supplies, how to use the different mediums and what each one is designed for, you will learn basic colour mixing, composition, brushstrokes, painting layout and design. She will give you step by step instructions as you learn about values, lighting and focus.
Beginners are most welcome in all her classes, she feels so has so much to give to them!

Brenda teaches classes in drawing. Drawing is the foundation of everything artistic. Yes I can teach you painting if you don't know how to draw but you would need to copy or trace your image from photographs. Learn how to align your hand with your eye so you can draw as your eye follows the outline of a form. Learn the basics of light and shadow. You will be able to use everything you learn here in your paintings. A good drawing in itself is a work of art.
